Midnight Oil to headline Big Red Bash

Birdsville’s Big Red Bash

Midnight Oil will make their first headline festival appearance in more than two decades in a location just as iconic as they are.

The rock group fronted by Peter Garrett will perform at the Big Red Bash Festival in remote Queensland from July 16-18 next year.

Headlining the concert is Midnight Oil, which will be making their first music festival headline performance since the Woodford Folk Festival in 1996.

Also performing are Kasey Chambers and The Living End, with more acts to be confirmed closer to the date.

Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday via the festival’s website, with adult tickets for the three day event priced at $539 per person.

Youth tickets for those aged 12-17 tickets are priced at $92, while children under the age of 11 are free.

A family ticket for two adult and unlimited youth or children is also available for $1168.

The Big Red Bash is one of Australia’s most unique festival experiences and is held in the Simpson Desert 35 kilometres west of Birdsville, Queensland.

The family friendly three-day festival is heading into its seventh year in 2019 and will see its headline act Midnight Oil perform in from of the 40-metre high Big Red Dune.
